I was wondering ....
If anyone would like to share how they store things ........and how they are organized??
I am talking your whole daycare area or your whole classroom. This was my goal this year was to be better organized ............but I have so much STUFF I don't know what to do with some of it.
I just thought that maybe if we share ideas we can all get some ideas and become better organized -
Here are some of my areas.
Toys - most of my toys are on a open face shelf in baskets of like toys (dinos, cars, dolls, etc)
The children do dump but they do pick up well
Changing table / diapers- every child has a basket at my house. Each basket gets a update monthly with a cute label with their name on it. I put the child's diapers, ointments etc on it.
Next to my changing table I Have a small shelf ........and I have the wipes in individual containers on one shelf all labeled with each child's name. On the top of the shelf (this shelf is a little shorter than my changing table) I have powers and such each labeled.
The bottom shelf has extra sheets and baby blankets.
Paper- I have a office stacker that I have put each color separate on each shelf of the stacker.
Odds and ends- I have a rubber maide drawer stacker thingy that has odds and ends in it. Its on top of a shelf that is waist high so the kidos cant reach into it. I have thinks like sharpees, markers, name tags, screwdrivers all i n this thingy. This shelf is also not in my main daycare room.
File Folder Games (FFG)- I have in a open plastic file box (I had actually lost the lid)
I put them together then use zip lock baggies and use close pins to keep them all together.
Those vinyls hanging file thing's- I have one by the entry. In the entry one each child has his name on a file and it hangs by the door. This is the Mail box for the kids - all my notes go in these all the art work. IT is very handy - and its one of my favorites!!!!
I have a 2nd one I have hung up away from the kids. I keep my daily sheets in it, weekly readers, applications ..mostly things I need to keep at hand.
I have a 4 drawer filing cabinet ..full of resource books and a few other odds and ends .. ok truth I have one drawer that is things I have shoved away when I dont know what else to do with it.
I want to be more organized ... I have other things like rotating toys and such I just dont know what to do with them ..... Baby things seem to take up more space than anything!!!
so anyone else care to share? Maybe you created a space in your home or your classroom that is just soo neato you just have to share it ???
Please do,

Well, Sounds like you are pretty organized to me! I have a large walk-in closet in my daycare room, I'm in the process now of shelving it floor to ceiling, after that is done, I'll take pictures and share, but don't hold your breath, my dh is slow about getting things like that done for me! I've found that over the years, I have too much stuff!!
One of trhe things I've done to cut down on children's supplies, I stop having parents bring wipes, I just purchased a bulk box of them myself and only have to keep up with one box of wipes!
My kids are coming in now, I'll get back to the boards later
Have a wonderful day!!

I supply wipes myself too Mimi. I don't have to have a separate tub for each child so me having just one tub and buying bulk refills is a space saver. And I use the sensitive unscented wipes so they work for any bottom!
