This is a real issue for me ......... I am finding I am a slob!! (not really just me being really judgmental on myself)

How do you keep yourself organized - separating family stuff from daycare stuff?

I have a accordion folder for my daycare children's files.

I have the state paper work in about 5 piles - ya know the one where we send in how many days we had that child ......then there is the one where we get told how much they will pay for that child .....then there is the check stubs..........do you put these in with the child's records? or in another file and why?

then there is this stuff ........art supplies .... papers.... crayons........ markers.........play dough .....cookie cutters....... paint........paint brushes ...... all this stuff what do you do with it?

This is my set up, I bought a two drawer file cabinet, one drawer if for daycare only and the other is for personal only! I tried many other ways, but for me personally this works! As far as my dck's folders, they are kept in a file box that is transportable, when my consultant comes, I just give her my file box and she can "have at it", everything pertaining to my daycare is in there for her to see.

Paints, brushes, playdough, etc. is kept in a cabinet that I purchased years ago, I make my own playdough so I keep it in a rubbermaid container, brushes are washed and stood in a homemade tote can (coffee can with handle), you see I'm a very frugal person, I keeep my file folder games in a file box made from an old cereal box! Cut the side out, cover in paper and you have a free file box!

I'm not good at pictures and downloading to the site, but I'll try to do that sometime!

I've found that I had to much stuff, my regional specialist helped me to get rid of somethings and to downsize my playroom material, it's been a long process but I'm getting there.

Well it would have to be a walk, maybe even a crawl thru would work best for me! :?

I'll see if I can get some pic this week-end and maybe post them.

I seen in a magazine this and Im thinking of doing this .. for taxes mainly. You put everything in an accordion file they have the ones with the latch on them that are plastic .. label them per year .. each area can be a separate category... once that year is complete band it closed with a ribbon. then put into your file cabinet or fire safe storage.

I thought these would be handy for important papers as well .. or your documents on your appliances and such.
