I am a religious coupon clipper. I come across some great ones. I call great ones buy 1 get 1, $1 or more off, etc. When I find really great ones that I don't use I will post them here along with the expiration date and will mail them to whoever asks first. Is anyone else a coupon clipper and would do this with me? Postage isn't cheap but if a couple of us coupon swap it would be fun!!

A giving tree is a tree that has people's names/ages on it and sometimes a suggestion as to what they want or need. It's a charity tree. Often it's low income families or people that live in a nursing or group home that would mostly likely get nothing for christmas. Sometimes they are called angel trees.

A few weeks a go I told myself I had to get serious with the walgreens and cvs store deals.
Last night I went to walgreens and cvs
this is what I got at walgreens.

yesterday I got an email for $5 off $20 good for yesterday only. Well since I HAD to go get my dd and my medication, I thought why not?

While there I saw ferrero choclates on sale for 1.99. I had FIVE coupons for 75 cents off. My dd loves this stuff....I got 2 dark chocolate and 3 milk chocolate.
Two spining crest tooth brushes reg 9.99 for 2 for $12. I had $1 coupns for each. It's a slight joke about my dh giving me a electric tooth brush 5 years ago for christmas...guess what goes in his stocking <G>
colgate tooth past on sale for Reg 3.99 on sale for 2 $5 and I had 2 $1 coupons
arm and hammer laundry soap on sale b1 get 1. I had $2 worth of coupons. 2 for 3.99
my end result was Saving 26.66 and handing over 29.62.

At CVS the first thing I did was scan my store card with the machine by the door. Out popped a coupon for $5 off $20. This is what I got

30 count cvs cough drops for 99 cents.................received a 99 cent extra reward bucks
Oasis moisturizingthroat spay 5.99 ...5.99 reward bucks at til
2 Maybelline mascra 6.14 and 3.07 (dd stocking stuffer) b1 get 1 50% off, used two coupons total value $1 so it cost me 8.21 for both instead of 12.28.
3 count gillette venus disposable razor 6.49 minus $1 coupon and I get $3 reward bucks at til (dd feels spoiled when I buy these kind of razors- christmas stuffer)
Tylenol extra strength 10 count. 2.49 minus $1 coupon and I get 2.49 in reward bucks

I used $3 in manufacture coupons
I used $8 in past reward bucks
I used $5 that I got going into the store

Total couopn/sale usage was $20.70 cash used $11.25 and recieved four extra care buck coupons worth (2.49, .99, $3, and $5.99) roughly 11.50

I am still able to go into the store and get 4 more cough drop and mouth wash sprays/washes and my money back each time in reward bucks.

One of the things that is motivating me is we have a 92 year old relative that just moved to town over the summer. Because she is on her own, we've been seeing often. She lives on a VERY tight budget and has a her pride is very BIG. In her life she has always been in the situation to be able to help people out. Well apparently she's helped out too many people and now she needs help. At the same time she doesn't want "charity" so I have to show her that the items I give her are almost free. Because there ARE so many free offers I can also slip in a few things... Like I bought her prunes that she wanted for 1.85, but was able to tell her I had a coupon that doubled to $1 so only paid 85 cents for them. Anyway its good motivation for me too.

does anyone do the reward program there? between the reward "bucks" and the online coupons I made a killing at cvs this weekend. FOR REAL I took home over $540 worth for roughly $30. I have to recheck my reciepts to get the exact figures. I was able to pick up so many daycare supplies, from diapers, wipes, kleenex, tp, milk, baby food- INCLUDING formula, shampoo...just all sort of great things.

This weekend the paper has 6 insert of coupons in it. I bought 10. each paper has over $250 in coupons and they double here, so they are worth $500 x 10 = 5000 if I were to use them all. Over course I won't, but if I just use $20 worth I more than made my money back. LOVE IT

Bree I wish I could figure out how u do that ..

I use to take a note book and write all that I wanted ..
CVS is 30+ miles away from me I do have Walgreens and they offer good deals from time to time.

I price compare at Walmart .. Somewhere was offering fresh Pineapple for 25 cents each ..... and I can go to Wally and price compare ...but I get so aggravated with the girls giving me such a hard time... they act like they don't want to push the extra button.........I think its my Walmart ..small town charm ya know!

I sent you a link to coupons this morning I can not get them to print .. I picked out 18 that I would actually use.. yogurt was a good buy ......... and my dck love yogurt to dip in like graham crackers so makes a good snack that is cheap as well. (and both of those meet the requirements for a snack)

Maybe we can do a coupon 101 class and let Bree teach us .. lets use a coupon site and show step by step how to save money???

I know NOW i have to start thinking this way! (I maybe wrong but I think I am getting stumped by a PITA)

Three trips through the til at cvs tonight

1. money saved 179.77
Money out of my pocket $3.25
EARED $25 to spend on a future trip on what ever I want
2 money saved 156.71
Money out of my pocket 73 CENTS
I only have $12 of "earned" store bucks because I used some for trip number 3

3. money saved 94.65
money out of my pocket...LOL 40 CENTS
reward bucks earned? none this trip.

so I "saved" $431.13
I paid out of my pocket $.38
Earned $37 to use in the future.

Adding up all my "bucks" I can use in the future I have $60 worth.
I put all the stuff I got tonight on the kitchen table and took a picture, but my son is on the desktop so I have to wait to post the picture.

I'm in a happy (TIRED) state of mind.

Oh....much of what I got was daycare related (diapers, wipes, b. and such) and they will be deductable along with the mileage.

ok Bree ..am wondering ..

you said money out of your pocket ..you only had to pay that little at the check out?

I dont have CVS but I do have Walgreens, Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Shop N Save.

Would you be interested in walking through with these savings with me?
Walgreens would be a good one and they have an online ad.

I need to start saving ..and saving for that rainy day.

yes that was money out of my pocket.
For instance today one of my reciepts say I BOUGHT 52.94 cents worth.
I ONLY PIAD them 34 cents in change. NO other real money.

I did how ever give them a bunch of online coupons and $8 in reward bucks that I had earned.

I just heard from a friend of mine. I guess there was a meeting over at that store. Someone has been doctoring online coupons and changing dates. I may NOT be having such great deals in the future. I don't know WHY someone has to do this. I wasn't doing any illegal and felt I was getting a fantasic deal. People are STUPID when they have to ruin it for every one.

I will be happy to help as much as I can. By doing so I am also helping myself keep motivated. I bought this house and I'm low on kids. NOT a good thing. While I will continue to try to get more kids, I have to also cut out the money that is going out.

target is good store for deals. I haven't done much with walmart, but I should look at it.
walgreens I use to do that saver book long time ago. I do hate rebates though. I'm not very good at doing the book work. Since the best way to save money is to look each week at the ad and SAVE the rebate til the end of the month...grrrrr I always for get to send it in. Still there are some deals that are too good to pass up even if your not doing the rebate (of course better if you remember to do it).
I will do a little reserach and post my findings. you can too.
Do you get the paper? is there any place you can check CHEAP papers. I use to go to the recycle dumpster on certain nights...MOnday night is awesome. ss are right on top and you just take them out. Of course you do get some "looks" LOL. we have 3 main papers (that I know of) in MN. one of them pinoneer press is only $1 compared to the forum that is 2.75. At $1 I can afford to buy 2-4 papers. expesically if the amount of coupons is in there is high. This weekend I believe the coupons totalled $200 there about. Nice since they double in the stores here.

I'll work out a plan and try to post it.

Coupons - web sites? I have one or two but the coupon printer wont work ..errrrrrrrrrrr

Walgreens we have the sales ad that comes out weekly and expires on Sunday - they have coupons and instore sales
then they have the saver book you were talking about ..if you compare between the 2 .. for instant they have candy bags 2 for $3 Reesees,,, kisses etc ... Ok normally I dont buy this but we do have a party coming up - .. well in the saver book there is a $1 off coupon ......so when you buy these you are getting 2 bags of candy for $2

The Sunday paper had cleaner $1 off each type ........ Walgreens had a instore sale of Buy one for $3.79 get the 2nd for free..
We had the 2 different products with each having $1 off coupon from the S paper ..so we got 2 cleaning products for $1.79

I am watching laundry detergent and such ..I have to be picky in some areas ... detergents break me out in hives.
Cereal is another one they often place on sale.

Walgreens has good deals on make up lots of the time as well.
Last week they had phone cards buy 2 for $20 - thats less than 3 cents per minute ... if you have to pay for long distance thats a great deal!! Get rid of your long distance and get phone cards instead!

Now Michelle can tell ya about this but personally I have used it.
Walmart does price compare - for me traveling all over gods creation is hard because I am very rural.
So what I do is gather up ads from other stores ... the item has to be the same such as ounce and has to give the price ... I cant recall but there was a catch to some of them ... I may think of them in a minute.
I gather ads from Aldis - its 30 miles from me ..the items are consider generic or in store name brand ...For example if I go to Aldis can goods are .50 each .........now at Walmart they are .79 each .. I take the ad with me from Aldis and get the Walmart name brand for .50 Bananas are .55 a lbs ..........last time I was at Aldis they were 3 lbs for .79
Some of the items I do this with - Ice cream, carrots , produce, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, soups, etc

Now you can price compare like this - now add those Sunday coupons in with it ..buy one get one free deals ..........
so say you just purchased Eggs and price compared them and got them for 1.00 and you have a coupon for $1 off eggs when you buy 2 ... gal. of milk...... yep you just got your eggs for free!

The thing with Walmart is you can buy generic .. but the ounces have to match and the items have to be similar .. so if the ad says cream of mushroom soup ..it can not be chicken noodle!
