A very cute Preschool book with lots of color.

Ideas -

Over and under
Up and down
These concepts can be taught during the reviewing of this book

Make stocking hats out of construction paper, paper plate and cotton balls - cut paper plate in half cut a rectangular piece of construction paper and a round circle out of construction paper. the rectangular shape goes on the flat edge of the paper plate. I had the kids draw up and down lines on it and we then put the round circle UP on top
We then glued cotton on the circle on UP on TOP of the hat

File folder matching cap / mitten games

I went to the teacher supply store (yes I cheated) and purchased precut mittens .. I like to put 1/2 of them on the floor all over then use the child's name in writing and say who's name do I have. When they say mine then they get a mitten from my hand and go find its match. (Same and different / matching/ Pairing)
We do this and count the mittens
Name the colors

Mittens add fun in the dress up area especially if ya can find some odd ones

Painting with mittens on --- yes you read that right .. mitten finger painting leaves a neat texture.

there is a pic in the book of the girl drinking hot chocolate - snack idea Smile
We made hot chocolate cups with little marshmallows in them - I purchased precut from a lady on here - Daycare Providers Palace ©

race on layers of clothes ..who can put the big sweat shirt on the fastest! or adult size socks! Lots of giggles here!

Sort of a body match game - Have the kids stand in a circle or scattered about ... ask questions and have them point where they are..
Where do our boots go?
Where do we wear a hat?
Where do your mittens go?
Where do we wear a scarf?

Name all the things in the book......... some of the items I felt we do not hear about in my area but its a good vocab builder.

there is a little dog in the book ..children love animals - talk about how the little girl took care of the dog ... she took him for a walk ... what do we need to take him for a walk? What color is the dog?
Dog coloring sheets , or dog cut out pattern would be a fun follow up.
